How this tool works
Newton's second-law relationship connects net force, mass, and acceleration. The calculator accepts signed acceleration so the result can represent direction along a selected one-dimensional axis rather than discarding the sign.
Net force F equals mass m multiplied by acceleration a. Kilograms multiplied by metres per second squared produce newtons.

Worked examples
Positive acceleration

Multiplying twelve kilograms by three metres per second squared gives a net force magnitude of thirty-six newtons.
Opposite direction

- Output
- -10 N
The negative acceleration indicates the selected opposite direction, so multiplying by positive mass produces a signed force of negative ten newtons.
Limitations
- The calculator does not resolve multiple vector forces.
- Relativistic systems and variable-mass dynamics require different treatment.
